Child Case 1 - Severe Crowding
Raphael had severe crowded teeth which I have managed to correct without the need to extract any of the child's permanent teeth. Crowding doesn’t always mean that teeth need to be removed as the consideration of the growth pattern of the jaw is very important in this decision.
I constantly have in mind what the impact on the child’s aesthetic profile will be if an extraction is made. This is vital to make sure it will benefit the patient, not only at an early age but more importantly when the child grows up and becomes an adult. The technique is often just as important. I use friendly arch wires to straighen teeth, enlarge maxillaries and ensure that I’m not only moving teeth but the bone as well to create a harmonious and more stable smile for the child.
